The AZ Legislature has two new bills designed to preemptively ban Ranked Choice Voting in all future Arizona elections. 

 

 

 

 

Last year's legislation

  • HCR2033 - Enshrine Partisan Primaries
    • Would ban non-partisan, unified primaries and maintain the current system. This is a required component of the popular Final Five reform being considered in states across the United States and in Arizona. It passed both chambers of the legislature in 2023 and will be on the November 2024 ballot for voter approval.
  • SCR1015- Signature Distribution Requirement
    • If passed, this constitutional amendment would require signatures from 10% of registered voters in each legislative district to initiate state statutes for the ballot and would require signatures from 15% of registered voters in each legislative district to initiate constitutional amendments for the ballot. It passed both chambers of the legislature in 2023 and will be on the November 2024 ballot for voter approval.
